Double Standard

Funny how this works, why isn't this labeled a hate crime? Don't you think if this was a Caucasian doing this to an African American that it would be labeled hate crime so fast you wouldn't have time to say "Al Sharpton"? Story below.

 Chose a side

Looks like we have another election coming up fast, and I have to ask this question, where does Obama get the balls to say that Palin has no experience? What has Obama done? Besides smear his republican opponent to get where he is? I am not a big Mccain fan, but at least he has some experience and won't abandon our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have no faith in Obama's ability to lead this country and that won't change in the coming months.

A few things needing to be addressed by the next president is the price of fuel and the economy. We need to embrace alternative fuels and for the time being, we need to allow off shore drilling and stop exporting most of our oil, so we aren't dependent on the whims of other countries, countries that are unstable at best and aren't particularly fond of us to begin with. It completely baffles me that we are not self sufficient in that respect. I doubt the next regime will do anything to change this, it just goes to show that the government, no matter who is in the presidential office, does not have the interests of the American people in mind. Then again, when was the last president that did?

 Fuel Prices

They professionals are saying that it is a weak dollar, and a volatile stock market that are causing oil to spike to new highs. Saudi Arabia has promised to increase oil output by 200,000 barrels a day in July. Will it make any difference though? Will the prices eventually fall back down to normal levels once the stock market levels off and the dollar strengthens? Who knows, but I'd like to think that someone out there cares about the working class and knows that fuel prices are killing us. It is very scary to think that gasoline could go up to 7 bucks a gallon here in the states by the end of the summer.

One good thing that is coming out of this is less SUV's on the road and automobile manufacturers offering more vehicles using either hybrid technology or alternative fuel.

Have to look at the bright side.

 Gas Prices Got You Down?

Gas prices are absolutely nuts. I know it affects everyone but too fill my little 2.3 liter car it costs me about 35 bucks every 4 days. That is insane. As bad as it is here, in Europe, where they go by the liter, prices to fill your vehicle are far worse. This is absolute insanity.

When are the governments of the world going to cut the BS, change the status quo and embrace renewable energy? I know that this would be a huge undertaking and cost billions if not trillions up front however the upside of not letting foreign powers, especially ones that inherently dislike us dictate fuel prices to us is a very appealing alternative. However, I am guessing that nothing short or a world wide rebellion is going to effect a change. That is a shame and what does it tell you? Government does not have the interests of Joe Workingman in mind when they make decisions. Too many lobbyists, too many special interests groups, too much bloat in government in general.

The truly sad thing is the indifference from the general population. We take what the government tells us and swallow it. Where is the anger from the people telling the government to listen to us or there will be repercussions? That is the thing that saddens me, the lack of people standing up and say I have had enough. I have read that democracy has 6 stages, I have no idea on the accuracy of this statement however its puts into words very well about the state of America. When the people in a democracy stop caring about what the government is doing that is a very bad sign which ends up in the lose of freedoms for said people.

Where do we go from here? Do we continue to let the foreign governments bend us over a chair or do we stand up and tell our leaders that you better start listening to us or we will put into power leaders who will?

 The Religion of Love

According to Snopes.com this email was really sent by Mr. Wichman, I appreciate his honesty and like the fact that the University he works for is backing him up on it. There is no crime in stating your opinion. At least, not in the civilized world.

The story begins at Michigan State University with a mechanical engineering professor named Indrek Wichman.

Wichman sent an e-mail to the Muslim Student's Association. The e-mail was in response to the students' protest of the Danish cartoons that portrayed the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist. The group had complained the cartoons were 'hate speech.'
Enter Professor Wichman.

In his e-mail, he said the following:

Dear Moslem Association,

As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest. I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like be headings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called 'whores' in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France. This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Muslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile 'protests.' If you do not like the values of the West - see the 1st Amendment - you are free to leave.
I hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.
Cordially,
I. S. Wichman
Professor of Mechanical Engineering

As you can imagine, the Muslim group at the university didn't like this too well. They're demanding that Wichman be reprimanded and the university impose mandatory diversity training for faculty and mandate a seminar on hate and discrimination for all freshmen. Now the local chapter of CAIR has jumped into the fray. CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, apparently doesn't believe that the good professor had the right to express his opinion. For its part, the university is standing its ground in support of Professor Wichman, saying the e-mail was private, and they don't intend to publicly condemn his remarks.

This video makes you wonder why we let them on the road at all. They are either doing there make up, talking on the cell phone or just plain completely oblivious to what is going on around them. In a word, WOW.
